Digitrax LocoNet to USB interface device
What it is/what it does:
This hardware device enables your computer with a USB-A port to communicate with your Digitrax LocoNet command station.  Typical uses would be to test/program decoders with the Java Model Railroad Interface DecoderPro application or to operate your layout with the JMRI PanelPro app.
Hardware requirements:
Computer with USB-A port.  If your newer computer has only a USB-C port, you will need a USB-A to USB-C adapter (not included).
Software requirements:
Once the device is connected, your computer with be able to “see” the device but will not be able to use it to “talk” with LocoNet.  For that, you will need to download and to install a “device driver” app.  The recommended FTDI device driver may be downloaded free from http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm.
Caveat
:
You need to ascertain that your computer’s OS will permit installation of a device driver.  For example, on Macs, the FTDI driver can be installed (and LocoBuffer-USB will work) on OS X 10 (Catalina) and earlier, but not on OS X 11 (Big Sur).
Condition:
Like new; has been carefully used; guaranteed not DOA.
